The Secret to the Success of the Gospel in the Church of God: “We Rely Only on God”
In both our physical and spiritual lives, there are always many trials and obstacles. In the past, when the Israelites faced great trials—the desert without water and food and the land of Canaan inhabited by giants, Joshua and Caleb placed their hope in God alone. Like them, we need the faith to see the door of hope that God has opened for us in the midst of difficulties.
The Gospel Accomplishes All Things Through God’s Word, Even Amidst the Waves of Difficulty
Just as through Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, God opened the door of hope to the kingdom of heaven for the saints of the early Church who despaired at Jesus’ crucifixion, and just as Jesus showed Peter, who had caught nothing all night, the miracle that unfolds when we act on His word, today, too, the words of Christ Ahnsahnghong, “The gospel will be preached in the whole world,” will surely be fulfilled.
“Show me, LORD, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is. . . . But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.” Psalms 39:4–7
“[B]ut the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:13–14
