When the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt,
when they entered the promised land of Canaan,
when King Josiah and King Hezekiah, who worshiped idols, returned to God,
and even when the Israelites were emancipated from captivity, the Passover was at the centre.
Just as in those times, God’s work of salvation is unfolding through the Passover today.
Two thousand years ago, the Passover of the new covenant,
which Jesus eagerly desired to keep with His disciples,
was abolished in AD 325 due to collusion between religion and politics
and disappeared into darkness; however, as prophesied,
Christ Ahnsahnghong came and initiated the work of salvation through the Passover.
And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat
this Passover with you before I suffer.”
Luke 22:15
On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread,
the disciples came to Jesus and asked,
“Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
He replied, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him,
‘The Teacher says: My appointed time is near.
I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.’ ”
Matthew 26:17–18
