Christ Ahnsahnghong Revealed the Secret of the City of Refuge —the Refuge for Death-Row Prisoners

In the Law of Moses murderers were, without exception, put to death (Lev 24:17). However, the sinners who killed someone accidently could live when they fled to this place—the city of refuge (Nu 35:9–11).

But the sinners in the city of refuge could not return to their hometown even though they missed their families. It was because they could be killed by the avenger of blood, if they fled from the city of refuge. Then, is there no way to be released from the city of refuge?

Only when the high priest died could they be released from the city of refuge and return to their hometown (Nu 35:25). The death of the high priest, and the freedom for the death-row prisoner! What is the truth of this mysterious law?

The law of the city of refuge is not only a past history. It is a shadow to show the spiritual world. (Heb 10:1)

The hometown of all mankind is the heavenly country (Heb 11:13). The earth is the city of refuge for our souls. All men are criminals on death row who were sentenced to death in Heaven, cast down and confined on this earth (Ro 5:12).

Then, what is the secret hidden in the death of the high priest, which frees death-row prisoners? The high priest is Jesus (Heb 2:17). In order to free death-row prisoners, Jesus established
the Passover of the New Covenant through His death.

“ ‘Take and eat this [Passover bread] is my body. Drink from it [Passover wine], all of you. This is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins’ ” Mt 26:26–28

We can go back to the heavenly hometown when we keep the New Covenant Passover established through the blood of the high priest.

Through the Bible, the Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong clearly taught us that the earth is the city of refuge—the refuge of death-row inmates, and showed the way to be freed from the city of refuge and return to our home country, the Kingdom of Heaven. By keeping the New Covenant that was restored by Christ Ahnsahnghong, let us be freed from the earth, the city of refuge, and return to our eternal home in Heaven.
