Gold ore that has a lot of impurities has to go through many refinements to shake off the impurities. Likewise, we have to go through refinement to live according to God’s Word; the refinement is done through tests. Job lost all his property, loving sons and daughters in one day, and had painful sores all over his body, but he didn’t grumble against God.
But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. Job 23:10
We receive tests by dealing with other people or by financial difficulty or by fighting with oneself. We should remember that God trains us to be immortal and complete beings through many tests. God Almighty controls over life and death, fortune and misfortune. Let us not be afraid of the test while living according to God’s will but overcome refinement by depending on God.
