On May 6, 2019, three dozen ASEZ (Save the Earth from A to Z) university student volunteers spent their day at the New York State Capitol in Albany, NY, raising awareness about the importance of environmental protection and ASEZ’s main campaign – Reduce Crime Together. ASEZ received a special sponsorship from New York State Senator Monica Martinez to hold a tabling session at the entrance of the Legislative Building.
Throughout the day, the student volunteers engaged with New York State senators and assembly members. The NYS government officials took the time to learn about ASEZ’s social welfare campaigns and goals, as well as the various awards and accolades they’ve received around the world.
Senator Monica Martinez invited ASEZ to join the New York State Senate Session. During the meeting, she introduced the students before the entire Senate, praising their volunteerism.
Moreover, Assemblyman Chris Tague also invited the students to attend the New York State Assembly Session, where he introduced the group in front of the Assembly.
